JSWT Tours

Organised by myself, a holder of the WSET Wine Diploma after many years working in the wine trade back in Blighty until two years back when I settled here in beautiful Slovenja: there are two principle tours :-

HALF DAY TOURS

Goricka National Park (Tour ref: GNPE or GNPW)
Days: Flexible

A choice of half day tours, starting from Murska Sobota and exploring the wines of Goricka Park, either the east side of Murska Sobota (GNPE) or the west side (GNPW) to include 2 or more tastings and visits to typical local sites (Rotunda Church in the East and Grad Castle in the West)if time permits
Duration of Tour - Approx 4 hours leaving at 1100
Price per person (4 to 10 people) - 30Euros (2 pax 55E each)

Lendavske Gorice (Tour ref: LG)
Days: Saturday or Sunday

A half day tour of this unique region neighbouring Lendava close to the Hungarian border: a small compact area of pretty hills and vineyards with some superb wines on offer. Includes 2 tastings and a 3rd tasting with optional meal in Peter Suc’s beautiful ‘Hisa Vina’.
Duration of Tour - Approx 5 hours leaving at 1100
Price per person (4 to 10 people) - 35Euros (2 pax 55E each)

Radgona-Kapella Region (Tour ref: RK) – ‘Bubbly Tour!’)
Days: Flexible

Located in the region south of Gora Radgona, this is the home of superb sparkling wines produced using the ‘champagne method’ as well as still wines, predominantly white. Includes 2 tastings and an optional meal, possibly in the medieval town of Bad Radkersberg, over the border in Austria if time allows.
Duration of Tour - Approx 5 hours leaving at 1100

FULL DAY TOURS

Jeruzalem and Environs (Tour Ref: JE)

A full days tour from Murska Sobota area by minibus or equivalent to include 2 or more wine tastings, a visit to the beautiful Mura river to see the water mill which still makes flour with time for a peaceful stroll and lunch in a delightful ‘gostilna’ in Jeruzalem with magnificent views and boasting excellent local gastronomy
Duration of Tour – Approx 8 hours, leaving at 0900
Price per person (for 4 to 10 people)- 45 Euros (2 pax 65E each)
Days: Flexible

Three Countries Tour (Tour Ref: TC)

Again a full day’s tour sampling Slovene (West Goricko), Austrian ( Sud Oststeirmark and Sud Burgunland), and Hungarian wine (over the border from Austria ) or a tasting in neighbouring Croatia to include 3 or more tastings and an optional lunch
Duration of Tour – Approx 8 hours, leaving at 0900
Price per Person (for 4 to 10 people)-50 Euros (2 pax 70E each)
Days: Flexible

Tours can vary in minor detail depending on local circumstances, but they are fun! Come and enjoy the delights of this beautiful unspoilt region of Slovenia, as well as a little of Austria and Hungary, with its enticing food and wines, friendly people, pretty landscape and fascinating ancient towns !
